Mission

The LSI Training Center is a dynamic hub for training, research, and strategic consulting dedicated to equipping Latino leaders to navigate complexity and lead transformational change. Through accessible, hybrid, and bilingual programs, LSI advances leadership development across business, community, and civic sectors, affirming that leadership is a critical pathway to economic mobility.

History

In Fall 2022, two roundtables brought together Latine leaders from across Maryland to identify community needs and priorities. These conversations laid the foundation for the Center for Leadership, Strategy, and Innovation (LSI), highlighting a shared desire for leadership development, stronger collaboration, and organizational growth.

In response, MLU launched the Leadership & Sustainability Institute (LSI) in January 2023 to equip Latine leaders and strengthen community impact. Initial offerings included the LSI Series and the LSI Coaching Spot, providing both training and ongoing support.

About LSI Training Center

The Leadership & Sustainability Institute (LSI) is an integral component of Maryland Latinos Unidos (MLU) and serves as a strategic partner of the Maryland Nonprofits Association. As a training and leadership development center, LSI builds scalable leadership infrastructure through sector-specific programs, applied research, capacity building, and the development of leadership pipelines that extend well beyond the classroom. With the launch of the MLU Learning Management System (LMS), LSI now offers accessible, hybrid, and inclusive learning — extending leadership to every community across the state of Maryland.
